Gas Range Installation Electrical Outlet For New Range - 220 Line?

Electrical outlet for new range - 220 line? - gas range installation

Hello. I am the renovation of an old house, including a fully equipped kitchen remodeling. Remove old electric wall oven, only the connection is direct (not out) to 220 line, which crosses the floor beneath. I have the line more than a few feet from the approach where the new gas or electric stove will be.

The manual installation of the new line as follows:

...................................... ...

It is recommended that the area with a wire supply (not supplied) can be installed. The electrical properties of all electrical wiring is 120/240 Volt, 30 amp minimum. The cable is the term "for use with a fork." Always use a cord again.

The areas are designed with dual use with 120/240 VAC or 120/208 VAC.

Most codes require a separate circuit of the wiring harness with switch and fuse, either in the control of the main entrance or a separate switch and fuse box. The offer requires a minimum stay of three son 120/240 or 120/208 V, 30 A, 60 Hz AC circuit.
...................................... ...

I kWell, I have to install a hook, I take it for 220 exits (since it is line 220). So my naive question is: What is the difference between "220" and "240 VAC The same goes for" 110 "vs." 120 VAC? "I think they are one and the same reference to what?

Since the manual says to use it with any 120/240 VAC or 120/208 VAC, should be able to use my existing line 220, since it confirms this in his own circle, no?

Thank you in advance for any advice --

Tim

Yes, you can use your existing line. A properly recognized that you need a separate box for an end to line 220 can provide to the kitchen to connect it to connect to.

The answer to your question about the terminology is best explained in this answer to a question, similar to a Web request to the experts:

Hello Kelly,

Based on your description ... seems to have a misspelling. For 220 amp ... if not .. 220 volts? (what we call .... to 240 volts, or a combination of the two legs of 120 volt hot. The tension at home in the U.S. 120/240 in 50 states ... although some call for injustice 240 volts 220).

With this correction ... Your question is "What is the difference between a group of 240 volts from a 208 volt panel ..?" The main difference is that the panel is a group of 240 volts single phase (even when there were 2 hot son ... again) .... monophasic and 208 that is what we call Phase 3 ... spread legs hot Panel 3 208-volt panels are reserved for themCommercial or light industrial applications .... comes in panels of guests 120/208 3-phase. For the wiring of the house .... a group of 240 volts (actually as a panel 120/240 Volt) is everything that usually requires more. They come from 100 amperes, 150 amperes, 200 amperes, and sometimes up to 400 amps sizes. A jury from 208 phase 3 - second - usually not less than 200 amps (even if you sometimes .. in an amplifier 100 or 125) and can vary in sizes up to 600 A or more for special applications.

Outside panel of 240 volts single phase (with 2 Hots, 1 Neutral and Ground) and phase 208 to 3 (with 3 Hots, 1 Neutral and earth) ... There is no real difference between the group of other parameters, 2nd The interior of the bus is organized various copper - because the 208 volt, 3 phase plates made to have room for up to 3 pole switch ... 240 volts, only support a single pole and double pole switch.

If you have many great expense for ... Shops and other heavy loads in a house .. which can be operated by 3 phases .... You can install a 120/208 3 phaseService and the panel. Usually done - this special paperwork is supplied with electricity (which is a non-standard panel and voltage for residential purposes) ... and may not be available in all regions. Anyway ... is much more expensive than standard household 120/240 Volt single-phase service and panel.

The proposed 208-volt 3-phase cabinet that if you have 3 main phases of the electrical charges ... and therefore it would be better served by a 3-phase service. When certain fees may be served by 3 phase ... You may be able to run smaller wire for some applications. Apart from that ... has no advantage over its residential counterpart of 240 volts.

Hope this helps ... If you need more information or have any further questions, please follow.

220 and 240 VAC is really same.V AC AC.
If possible, a tank, have the 220 installed on the wall and comeing a purchase of 220-cable with a hold of her. Let this be connected to the furnace.
In only one I would say, you should consult an electrician to get 110 or 220, can be fatal. Please back up.
